Apologies for my absence.
I trust all the human camps have been kept in check in my absence?

Charles notices Erik shifting away and he gently wraps his arms around Erik, shifting closer and sighing.
“If I can manage to, yes.” he murmurs. He hasn’t managed to have a restful sleep in quite sometime. Being in Erik’s arms, he hoped perhaps he could get some proper rest.
Erik doesn’t move away from him this time, instead he holds him close to his chest, almost afraid to ever let Charles go.
“Sleep mein liebling,” he murmurs softly, pressing a kiss on top of the humans head fondly.

Charles moves down a bit again, resting his head against Erik’s shoulder and slowly tracing the scars on Erik’s chest. He may not get to see them but he can always feel them, and he finds them oddly beautiful.
“I do understand.” he nods.
Erik shifts away from Charles’s hands. The scars are painful reminders of a painful past, and he cannot understand why Charles insists on touching him like that.
“Do you need to rest?” he asks gruffly, reminding himself that the love of his life is in a state because of his rules and society. He needs to remember that.

And if hearing those words were anything, they were comforting. He’d seen too much in these days to allow it to continue, he’d been too hurt and experienced the pain first hand. He turns his head up and kisses Erik once, soft but firmly.
“Thank you, Erik. You do not understand how grateful I am that I could make you see what is going on.” he murmurs against Erik’s lips, brushing their noses together a bit.
“Then understand who I am doing this for, what it means,” he says firmly, not moving an inch away from Charles. “I am changing the entire world, for you. Because you asked, and because nothing matters to me more than your happiness. Nothing.”

Charles closes his eyes and relaxes a bit, allowing himself to feel safe with Erik. He didn’t mind the comfort at all, he hardly was ready for anything more than this right now but he felt safe and secure for the first time in so long and he felt like he could actually close his eyes without worrying if someone would wake him up violently.
“I will make everything right,” he murmurs, holding him close. And he didn’t just mean Charles. He meant the world. The mutant-human conflicts. The radiation poisoning. The hate crimes and the camps. He would work day and night until the world was how Charles wanted it to be.

Charles follows Erik, gripping onto the mutant’s hand with his thin fingers, he moves carefully into the bed. He still has the dressing gown wrapped around him, even if it’s rather big being Erik’s and all.
He moves a bit closer to Erik and lovingly rests his head on Erik’s shoulder, curling up next to the First mutant. He felt safe like this, he had to admit he felt terribly safe wrapped up in this dressing gown and close to Erik.
Erik runs his fingers through Charles’s damp hair, moving to hold him close, shifting so their bodies fuse together like one. He let Charles go once, he couldn’t do it again. He felt too warm and comforting, he didn’t want the human to be out of his sight ever again.

Charles listens to Erik and he nods, he doesn’t make any move to try and undress Erik even if it’s a bit uncomfortable part of him is still nervous and besides he doesn’t want Erik to feel uncomfortable.
“I always wish for you to hold me, Erik. You’re making me feel safer than I have felt in months.” he murmurs, giving Erik a smile again.
“Because I love you,” he murmurs, kissing his forehead. He takes Charles’s hand and takes him into the small bedroom he slept in, pulling back the covers so the human could get in. He switched off the lights before taking off his clothes and climbing into bed with him, his body slightly damp.

Charles shifts a bit and he smiles, moving up a bit and moving to place his hands on Erik’s chest, absent mindedly tugging at Erik’s wet clothing. He thinks the words over in his head and he shifts a bit, chewing at his lip.
“Erik, I want to make this clear that I am not your prisoner.” he says, looking up at Erik now with a determination in his blue eyes. “I missed you in those camps, and I know it is not what you wished for me. I have…” he trails off, frowning a bit and he straightens his back a bit, trying to look more confident in this than he is nervous.
“Erik, I want… I want to be your partner, I-I want to help you through everything and I want to support you to make the world better and I want to wake up in your bed each morning.” he says, the last part is making his cheeks heat up rather heavily however. Well, there it was out.
Erik doesn’t say anything as he speaks. He would take off his wet shirt, but it’s light in here, and he would much rather his scarred skin be bare in the darkness of his own bedroom. He didn’t say he loved him. But he wanted him, and that was good enough. Maybe…maybe even they could be public, be the face of the new world. One day.
“Charles let me make it clear that me listening out for you was not because I worried you would escape, it was because I worry,” he murmurs after a long pause. “And the world, we will worry about in the morning, when it is bearing down on m-…on us. For now let me hold you, please, if you want me to.”
